She was beautiful.
He was nervous.
He took her to lunch. Someplace she'd never been. A new place for a fresh start.
They talked. She smiled. She laughed. She lit the room for him like a 1000-watt bulb with nothing to shade him from the light burning brightly all around. She filled him with energy when she spoke to him. He loved to watch the way she enjoyed her food. She made him feel joyful. He couldn't remember the last time he was happier.
They asked each other questions, showing a real interest in one another and wanting to learn everything possible about the other person. Was he the one? Was she? Sex felt great physically, but this made him feel good in an emotional way that was probably as good or better. Lots of women would (and had) spread their legs for him, but this one was actually interested in him - in getting to know him - and she seemed to like what he had to say. No more bubbleheaded bimbos!
He hated for it to end. In his state of delight, he left a generous tip for their waitress. He wanted to share his happiness with the world. On the way out, she stopped at the restroom and he texted his best friend to share that "she's fascinating." They left and stopped for ice cream. Glad for a few minutes more with her, he watched her relish the ice cream that she said reminded her of being a child. She was still child-like now. A grown woman who still has enthusiasm for the world and all its wonders. A gorgeous woman with the eyes of a child, curious and sweet.
He fell in love ... and the affair began.
